ENCAC has signed a partnership agreement with UNESCO for a comprehensive project to document Eswatini's intangible cultural heritage practices. The three-year project will focus on documenting traditional Swazi practices including ceremonies, oral traditions, indigenous knowledge systems, and traditional craftsmanship. The project will employ ethnographic research methods, video documentation, and community-based participatory approaches to ensure accurate and respectful recording of cultural practices. "This partnership with UNESCO provides invaluable international expertise and resources for our heritage documentation efforts. It will result in a permanent digital archive that preserves our cultural knowledge for future generations," said Director General Dr. Bandla Mdluli. The project will be implemented in collaboration with the University of Eswatini and the Eswatini National Library Service.
