ENCAC TURNS MANGCONGCO TALENT SEARCH INTO LAUNCHPAD FOR CREATIVES
For three years running, the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) has helped grow the Mangcongco Talent Search. This year’s search brought creatives from different areas together, each ready to share their talent and take a chance on what could come next. The event was a meeting place for ambition, creativity and opportunity, where performers could be seen, heard and encouraged to keep growing.
ENCAC’s involvement was inspired by its commitment to promote the arts and support the people who bring them to life. By supporting platforms such as the Mangcongco Talent Search, the Council helps create meaningful opportunities for artists to develop their skills and connect with the wider creative industry.
And the support does not end when the applause fades. Over the past three years, participating creatives have been given the opportunity to record at the Manzini Recording Facility, an important step for artists looking to turn a live performance into a polished recording. Access to a recording facility can help emerging talent build confidence, develop a professional portfolio and share their work with audiences beyond the event.
For a new artist, one opportunity can make all the difference. A microphone, a recording session, an encouraging audience or a chance to perform can become the beginning of a much bigger journey. ENCAC is investing not only in individual creatives, but also in the growth and visibility of Eswatini’s arts and culture sector. The Mangcongco Talent Search also highlights the importance of community-led platforms. When local initiatives and national arts support work together, talent has more room to flourish. Young and emerging creatives can step forward, audiences can discover new performers, and the country’s rich cultural energy can reach more people.
